Meet Dr Vincent Aw (Dentist)

Dentist Ferntree Gully, Dr Vincent AwSince he was young, Dr Vincent has been exposed to the medical and health sciences with family members working in the field. “The reason dentistry interests me the most is that it’s a line of work that involves treating people’s health. Also, dentistry has an artistic component to it. That gives me a good sense of satisfaction.”

Education and Experience

Dr Vincent graduated from La Trobe University with a Master of Dentistry. He has been working in private family practice since then. After graduation, he spent a year working in Sydney before returning to Melbourne, where most of his friends and family are.

He recently completed a Mini-Residency in Clinical Orthodontics with a Graduate Diploma (3-year). Dr Vincent also was recently accepted as

  • A Fellow of the International College of Continuing Dental Education (ICCDE)
  • A Fellow of the International Academy of Dental Facial Esthetics (IADFE)

Keen to continue learning, Dr Vincent will be doing implant courses soon. He looks forward to being able to confidently offer implants to his patients in the future.

Helping Patients Achieve Their Smile Goals

For Dr Vincent, the most fulfilling aspect of his job is getting to meet new people. He likes to work with them to achieve a common goal. Dr Vincent feels it is a privilege to be able to work together with his patients. He works to gradually gain their trust and get them to where they want to be.

It is very fulfilling to have someone appreciate the work I put in to help them achieve these goals. This is the main reason why I enjoy working in dentistry.”

While he loves all aspects of general dentistry, Dr Vincent particularly enjoys cosmetic dentistry and orthodontics, as well as extracting wisdom teeth.

Outside the Office

Outside of work, Dr Vincent enjoys spending time with his family and playing basketball. For most parts of the year, he participated in weeknight basketball competitions. “I never used to travel much when I was young. Now, I am trying to spend a bit of time every year exploring a part of the world that I have not been to.”

Dr Vincent likes the idea of combining travelling with volunteering. He took part in a dental volunteering group in Vanuatu several years ago and enjoyed the experience.
