Affordable Dentistry in Ferntree Gully
Children who qualify for Medicare coverage through the Children’s Dental Benefit Schedule (CDBS) can receive up to $1,095 in dental care over the course of two consecutive years. Eligible children between the ages of 2-17 have access to dental services like:
- Routine dental exams
- Scale and cleans
- Fissure sealants
- Digital X-rays
- Restorative fillings, crowns and root canals
- Dental extractions
Find Out if Your Child Qualifies
To receive dental coverage for your child, your family must receive some form of governmental payment within the current calendar year and be actively enrolled in Medicare. Some of the examples of qualifying government support include:
- Family Tax Benefit
- Parenting Payment/Youth Allowance
- Disability Support Pension
- Veteran’s Children Education Scheme (age 16 & up)
- Special Benefit
- Education and Training Scheme (age 16 and up)
How Does CDBS Work?
The $1,095 in dental coverage begins at your child’s first appointment when services are provided. Any fees are deducted from your eligible CDBS account and the remaining balance is available for the current and next year to be used as needed.
Unused funds cannot be rolled over after the second year. However, eligible families may be able to “re-start” a new two-year cycle if they qualify for certain government payments and Medicare.
